Headlines this week show that it isn’t easy being a person with a disability in New Brunswick!
One headline, from the Telegraph Journal says “New Brunswick Now has Highest Inflation Rate in Canada” (note: this article is behind a paywall and we are unable to share), while another one CTV News and other sources screams out “People with disabilities twice as likely to have food insecurity, StatCan report says“. You put these two articles together and it becomes very obvious that it is not easy being a person with a disability right now in New Brunswick. You would think that a province that stands at the edge of an election season would be doing more to gain the votes of at group that represents 35.3% of the population! But surely, you say, the province must be giving out a lot of money to people with disabilities to make up for this kind of inflation, right? …. RIGHT?? Oh yes…. a WHOLE $918.00 per month! Thank you government of New Brunswick, for leaving us at the very bottom of the food chain. You are too kind.
