NBCPD Presents at Ignite Change Global Convention 75th Anniversary, organized by the John Humphrey Centre for Peace and Human Rights
On December 4, the Chair of the New Brunswick Coalition of Persons with Disabilities, Shelley Petit, and Murielle Pitre, the founder of NBCPD and Communication Chair, presented at this important global event. The subject was that of the Disability Industrial Complex (D.I.C.) (info: “Disability Is Natural” by Kathie Snow)- something that we at NBCPD feel is not talked about enough.
We are opening up comments to this blog as we would like to know if you already knew about the D.I.C. and what it means to the disability community. We have been receiving a lot of feedback from advocacy groups and organizations other provinces and even some internationally indicating how appreciative they are that a group is finally tackling this important subject.
