Open letter from Marie-Josée Houle (Federal Housing Advocate) – universal design and accessible housing

As some of you may know, Shelley Petit (Chair of NBCPD) sits on the Steering Committee of the Accessible Housing Network which is advocating strongly for the case for Universal Design. This week, they were ecstatic to finally see a letter from the Federal Housing Advocate, Marie-Josée Houle, to the Federal Minister of Housing and to the Federal Minister of Accessibility. In the one-page letter, she calls for all the housing in the new “Catalogue” program to be accessible or easily adaptable.
