Guaranteed Income for Persons with Disabilities in New Brunswick

Guaranteed Income for Persons with Disabilities in New Brunswick

This policy brief serves as a guide for examining the interconnected nature of disability and poverty in New Brunswick, Canada. We define the problem–poverty–how to measure it and how employment factors complicate matters. We then explore a basic income as an option to address the problem, including lessons learned from other provinces. Three policy options are offered for how to move forward including a guaranteed basic disability income.
