NBCPD Advocates for Social Development Reform

In September, the Department of Social Development NB made an announcement about SD reform that left the disabled population very disappointed. The reform lacked many - if not all - of the changes the NBCPD was hoping to see. First and foremost in our minds was a much needed change to the Household Income Policy, something that has been advocated for very strongly across the province not only by the NBCPD, but by other organizations and independent advocates alike. We immediately reach out to the department in a letter to the Honorable Bruce Fitch, Minister of Social Development, offering our assistance in further reforms that we were convinced they had coming up the pipe.
